George Mather Forbes School No. 4

PROJECT DETAILS

George Mather Forbes School 4 underwent a comprehensive renovation to modernize the facility and align it with the district’s PK-6 grade structure. A key component of the project was the construction of a two-story addition, which provided five new classrooms tailored for both general and Special Education students. The addition also included a fully equipped kitchen and an expanded cafeteria, offering enhanced functionality and a welcoming environment for students. The historic gymatorium, a centerpiece of the school, was restored to its original grandeur, complete with new sound systems, hardwood flooring, and upgraded equipment.

In addition to these structural upgrades, the project introduced a state-of-the-art makerspace that supports interdisciplinary learning and creativity. Daylighting improvements throughout the building created brighter, more inviting spaces for students and staff. By preserving the historical integrity of the original building while integrating modern features, the renovation ensured that George Mather Forbes School 4 continues to serve as a cornerstone of the South Attendance Zone. The completed facility reflects a commitment to providing high-quality educational environments that inspire both learning and community pride.
